An award winning Four Star Gold Bed &Breakfast, Norton House is a grade 11 listed building dating back to the 1500s, the date ?1716? over the front door refers to the modern extension when it became a farm house!  

Carefully renovated to retain the original stone flag floors, oak beams, inglenook fireplaces, stripped pine shutters and doors, Norton House oozes old fashioned charm and character but provides all the modern comforts our guests could wish for.

Lynda &David look forward to welcoming you to Norton House, there is a lovely guest lounge, solely for the use of our guests, with roaring log fires in the winter. Here, we greet our guests when they arrive with a pot of tea or coffee and home made cakes to help them relax after their journey.

Please note, for the comfort and safety of all our guests, Norton House is a non smoking house.  Car parking can be limited during busy periods.

We welcome our guests bringing their dogs ,however, there is a charge of £10 for their stay.

The House sits in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty with A40 conveniently close for access to Monmouth, Ross on Wye, Forest of Dean and many other attractions. The River Wye is only 10 minutes walk away. There are several walk books and maps available to use during your stay and Lynda has lots of knowledge of the area to help guide you.

Since May 2020, tree felling opposite Norton House has impacted on the outlook from the front aspect, However, as stated in reviews Norton House is within a few minutes walk of breathtaking scenery.

Most important - Eating out!

The Potting Shed is 2 minutes walk offering a very comfortable and quirky restaurant serving freshly cooked local produce. Dogs welcome.

The Crown pub is 3 minutes walk offer Indian cuisine and a bar. dogs welcome in the bar.

The Old Court Hotel is 5 minutes walk over the other side of the A40 offering an excellent selection of good food and well stocked bar. There is lovely outdoor seating in the summer months. Dog friendly.
